PROFESSIONAL RECYCLING & WASTE MANAGEMENT FOR INDUSTRIAL, COMMERCIAL AND DOMESTIC APPLICATIONS THROUGHOUT SOUTH WALES
Site Waste Management Plans Regulations 2008 (SWMP)
Introduced into law in England from April 2008, and soon to be introduced in Wales, Site Waste Management Plans are a legal requirement for all projects between £300,000 and £500,000. Projects that exceed £500,000 require a significantly more detailed SWMP.
The plans have been introduced as part of the main contractors ‘Duty of Care’ as a measure to increase recycling, improve efficiency and reduce fly tipping. Their use are enforced by the relevant Local Authority and Environmental Agency; breaches in their use, or failure to comply with the legislation can lead to a fine of upto £50,000 on summary conviction.
We are happy to work with the Contractor to plan, compile and manage their SWMP’s in conjunction with the adoption of on-site segregation if deemed appropriate. This should produce a framework that is both financially and environmentally beneficial for all parties.
